Micro Swiss MK10 All Metal Hotend Kit

This is an all metal hotend upgrade kit for MK 10 style extruders. Thermal barrier tube is made from 2 different materials. The lower thermal break is made from stainless steel, and the colder upper part is made from aluminum. Stainless steel was used for thermal break because it offers low thermal conductivity, and aluminum was used for the upper portion because it has a lot better thermal conductivity, to carry away any heat from the filament. All metal hotend will let you print at much higher temperature than possible with original PTFE lined one. Another benefit of an all metal hotend design is more consistent melt chamber control. During slow extrusion rate, in PTFE lined hotend, transition zone from solid to molten plastic tends to creep upward creating more stringy prints. With all metal design a transition zone is always constant, being located right at the heat break. With fast extrusion rate, PTFE tube doesn't have enough thermal conductivity to properly melt all the plastic coming out. On MK10 extruders that limitation happens around 60 mm/s, depending on nozzle size. All metal hotend solves this problem, plastic is surrounded by thermally conductive nozzle throughout its length.

Orifice size available: .2mm, .3mm, .4mm .5mm, .6mm, .8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm

      great but not

I love the upgrade the only down side is the length of the upper tube it isn't very long so I have to have it really low in the block which allows it to back up and have to be completely taken apart to clean on my qidi Ifast I just wish it was longer

Restored a Flashforge Dreamer to Like New

One of my Flashforge Dreamers has over 2500 hours on it, we made the decision to replace the entire right side hotend after discovering severe wear and liner damage.

From Flashforge we sourced a new block, heaters and sensor.

From Microswiss we sourced this kit. After forcing the previous tube out we set reassembled everything and with very little calibration we started printing production parts again. Aside from the trademark "Flashforge Ringing" pattern caused by running a Dreamer way too fast, we have restored print quality and print success to the same level as when the machine was brand new.

We are getting a more even more consistent flow out of the right side and the temps are holding without jumping around -- which the machine did new out of the box. I credit the improvements to the new throat and nozzle, a more uniform heat transfer means less temp jumping and an overall improvement in quality.

I made the decision to leave the left side decommissioned until we buy a second upgrade. That will happen after the holiday.

Overall, we are very pleased with the improvement in print quality thanks to our MicroSwiss upgrade!

Best and durable nozzles best I've used

5 years ago I founded a small 3D printing business. I bought 8 printers with PTFE barrier tube inside. I had a lot of problems with under extrusion and did not understand why.
I decided to try this Metal Hotend kit and all problems disappeared. I updated all my printers, rise default print speed and soon 4 years since I use these nozzles every day to print PLA.
No diameter change, no clogging, thermal barrier still mirror surface inside.
Soon I will expand the business and I will definitely buy more.
      Highly recommend!

All 3D Printers should come equipped

This significantly improved my Qidi Tech 2018 printer's ability to cope with filaments of varying diameter and completely eliminated the problem of teflon tube developing a ring shaped bulge and jamming the filament. I can now print faster than ever before. I am no longer constrained to lower temperature materials. I have had success with HTPLA, PET-G, TPU, and nylon so far. For just $40 I can't understand why the machine did not ship with this as standard.

      Easy Install for Better Prints

After so many other's failed prints or jammed hot ends caused by the filament jamming on the PTFE tube it was time to upgrade. It's an easy upgrade to install. The greatest benefit is that I can print at much higher temps so I can test new materials that require higher temps like TPU and PETG and not worry about damaging the PTFE tube or jamming my hotend.
