This is an All Metal Hotend Kit for CR-6 SE Printers.

This is a drop-in All Metal Conversion kit for the CR-6 SE printers. It requires absolutely zero modification to your printer to install. Our uniquely designed cooling block eliminates the need for a thermal tube. By not having a separate thermal tube inside the cooling block, it allows for faster heat dissipation.

The thermal heat break is made from Grade 5 Titanium Alloy to provide excellent thermal isolation between the heater and the cooling block. Titanium is an extremely strong material and offers almost 3x lower thermal conductivity than stainless steel, creating a more defined melt zone.

Poor fit for CR-10 Smart and clogs very often

I bought this hotend after my original broke. I expected a fix and an upgrade. It was neither.

First off, the CR-10 Smart fan doesn't fit the mounting holes on this hotend. I had to create a bracket to adapt it (and since I didn't have a working printer, I couldn't print the model made by MicroSwiss). At first I expected it to be a simple fix, but it was a pain since there's very little room and lots of small parts. Also with the small fins and the size of the fan-hub, much of the heat-sink actually ends up with very little airflow unless you make the bracket offset, which makes it even more of a pain to make and assemble.

After getting the fan mounted and adjusted, I was very disappointed by the frequent clogs, and how hard they are to clear. There's just too much heat flowing into the heat-sink and the filament gets too flexible before reaching the narrow end just before the nozzle.

I've been trying to make this hotend work for weeks now. Finally gave up and I'm ordering a new Creality one.

New CR-6 MAX All Metal Hotend

There was an issue with a missing screw, they sent me another. I've been printing non-stop for about five days with no issues. Should that change I will update this review. I am very pleased with this item and they're customer service.

I tried to support this product, over and over and over again

I tried really hard to support this product and company. I have given up countless hours and hundreds of dollars after my initial purchase of the all metal hotend kit trying to keep it working and only having the design or quality of materials fail me many times over. Over the last 18 months I have had to purchase a half dozen replacement thermal breaks, an equal number of heater blocks, and I can't even keep count of how many feet of Capricorn tubing I have gone through.
The biggest problem I have had is with the design of how the PTFE tube is held in place. The brass compression sleeves never, ever squeeze symmetrically and causes pinching on the tubing. This happens on both sides, the hotend and the extruder side. And with a CR-6 Max, you can only get one shot at running the standard length of Capricorn. After that, the leftovers are too small to use for another try. And then the tiny little brass sleeves themselves are 90 cents each. Buying generics are only 16 cents each but surprise surprise they don't work and MicroSwiss states that only the ones they sell are proper.
My first hotend failed because of corrosion at the bottom of where the PTFE tube seats. This started a snowball effect of other problems like the thermal break and/or heater block leaking. The thermal break also spins so easily on the cooling block because only a tiny little grub screw is used to hold it in place. That doesn't come close to the surface tension needed to prevent it from spinning when you install a new nozzle. And that stamped tin wrench they send with? Don't even attempt to use that more than once.
Oh and if you ever do have to replace the heater block, you better have spare thermistors and heater cartridges on hand, because the alloy used on these will weld to the cartridge and temp sensor. Another $10 every time these parts fail.
Over $380 wasted on these parts with nothing to show for it but a printer that sits while I wait for a better hot end from a competitor.
